Questions about Steady

Do I need an account?

No. Steady has no account, no sign-up and no login, and it never asks for your name or email address. You install it and start a session. See A Kegel App Without an Account: What That Means. If you buy Steady Pro, the purchase belongs to the Google account you use in the Play Store.

Is my training uploaded anywhere?

No. Your training is never uploaded, sold or shared, and there is no Steady server. Your training history stays on this phone: it is excluded from Android cloud backup. Purchases go through Google Play. There are no ads and no analytics of your training. See Where is my Steady data kept?

Does Steady work without an internet connection?

Your training and the free sessions work without a connection. Buying, restoring and checking Steady Pro need Google Play. Steady keeps Google Play's last answer on your phone, so Pro keeps working for up to 7 days when Google Play can't be reached.

What's free, and what's in Steady Pro?

Free, with no trial and no time limit: week 1 of Steady 28, Beginner, Quick squeezes, the Relax set, How to do it, voice cues, pocket mode, your streak, History, up to three daily reminders and the home-screen widget. Steady Pro adds Steady 28 days 8 to 28, Intermediate, Advanced, Long holds and your own routines. There are no ads in either.

How much does Pro cost, and how do I cancel?

The price is shown in Google Play, in your currency, before you pay. You can subscribe monthly or yearly, each with a 7-day free trial if Google Play offers one to your account, or pay once for lifetime. Cancel a subscription in Google Play at any time; uninstalling Steady doesn't cancel it. See How to subscribe, cancel or restore Steady Pro.

What is Steady 28?

A fixed 28-day plan with one short session a day, in four weeks: Foundations, Longer holds, Quick squeezes and Mixed. Each day takes about 1 to 4 minutes. The days are the same for everyone, and you can repeat a day or skip ahead. Week 1 is free. See Steady 28.

How do I find the right muscles?

Steady shows plain steps for each squeeze before your first session, with a 3-squeeze practice that isn't recorded. See How to do it. For more detail, the public health pages on our sources page describe it. If you're unsure, a healthcare professional can help. See also How to Find Your Pelvic Floor Muscles: A Guide for Men.

How long should I train each day?

Steady doesn't set a target. It offers sessions from 45 seconds (Quick squeezes) to about 4½ minutes (Advanced), and one Steady 28 day of about 1 to 4 minutes. With Pro, your own routines use timings you choose. For how much is right for you, speak with a healthcare professional. See How Many Kegels a Day? What Public Sources Say.

Will I see results? How do I know it's working?

Steady doesn't measure results; it records the sessions you complete. You see your streak, your sessions and minutes, and the days you trained. For questions about your body or your health, please speak with your doctor.

Is it discreet?

The app is called just "Steady" on your phone. You write your own reminder text; the default is "Time for your Steady session". The discreet widget shows only "Steady · today's session". On Android 13 and newer, you can hide Steady's preview in your recent apps.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet. Steady is on Android only, through Google Play.

What happens to my history when I get a new phone?

Your history isn't in Android cloud backup, so it can't be restored from your Google account. Copying directly from your old phone to your new one can bring it along if the old phone runs Android 12 or newer, depending on the transfer method. Steady Pro follows your Google account and can be restored on the new phone. See Where is my Steady data kept?
