How to do it: plain steps and a short practice
Plain steps for each squeeze, and 3 practice squeezes before your first session.
How to do it is the first thing Steady shows you, before any session. It's free, and it's short.
The steps
Under Each squeeze, Steady shows three steps:
- Sit or lie down, whichever is comfortable.
- Squeeze and lift the muscles you would use to stop yourself passing wind.
- Let go fully before the next squeeze.
And under While you squeeze, don't: hold your breath (keep breathing as usual), or tighten your stomach, buttocks or thighs.
A short practice
Tap Try 3 practice squeezes to follow three squeezes with the same cues as a session: squeeze 3 seconds, relax 4 seconds, three times. The practice isn't added to your history, and you can skip it.
Find it again
You see How to do it the first time you open Steady, as step 2 of 4. To open it later, tap Settings at the top of the home screen, then How to do it under Training.
Steady shows the steps. It doesn't check how you do them. For more background, read How to Do Kegels for Men: Squeeze, Hold, Relax and see our sources.
